You can access Atlas at https://atlas-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/
- Key requests (issue, return, transfer) can be created by anyone with Atlas access
- Approval for all key requests is required by pre-designated key approvers
- There is no charge for keys unless you need 10 or more of the same key
- The Facilities Key Office Associate (part of the SEMO office) and the CSC (Facilities Customer Service Center) handle key requests
Key Issue
- When you create a request, an email will be sent to the key approver you selected. If you need to have the key request transferred to a different approver after you have submitted the request, contact Robin Arena, the Key Coordinator for SEMO at 3-3257.
- Once the Key Approver approves the request, it will be filled by SEMO.
- If you are a Key Approver entering the request on behalf of another person, you will still need to approve the request you entered.
- If keys are in inventory, status will be set to ‘Ready for Pickup’.
- If keys need to be made, the status will be set to ‘Waiting for Locksmiths’. When keys are ready, status changed to ‘Ready for Pickup’.
- When your keys are ready for pickup in CSC, you will receive an email.
- You must bring your MIT ID when picking up keys.
Key transfers and returns
- Both require a request in the web
- Returned keys are brought back to the CSC
- Transfers refer to recording the transfer in the Key System. Customers are responsible for physically giving the keys to the other party.
